Field research
Spent the morning wandering the toys aisle at the Warehouse getting strange looks from parents. Found some interesting things though and bought myself a doll which was an oddly liberating experience.
Loved this funky piece, lots of fun bright colours. Not really in keeping with my doll's aesthetic though
These were both reduced. I bought the one on the right though who was half the price, her paint job wasn't finished and she didn't have the funky hand bag. Interested also in the top heavy packaging of the one on the right though
Had to get a snap of the infamous Elsa doll who owned the toy world after Frozen came out
Loved this one, true to the character this doll wasn't as thin as the others and didn't have much breast like the others either. A role model for Tika
Observing what else is popular; bright colours, disproportionate bodies, caricatured features etc.
